New Horizons Partnership Ltd – Public Statement on Fundraising Principles (Northern Ireland, 2025)
At New Horizons Partnership Ltd, our fundraising reflects who we are: a compassionate, community‑rooted organisation dedicated to supporting adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities across the North West of Ireland. Everything we do is driven by our mission — to empower individuals to achieve independence, personal growth, and lifelong learning through tailored support, community inclusion, and specialised training such as independent travel training.
As we work to extend opportunities, skills, and confidence to those we support, we rely on public trust. Our fundraising practices honour that trust at every step.
Our Commitment to Ethical, Respectful Fundraising
New Horizons Partnership Ltd follows the Code of Fundraising Practice, which sets the UK standards for fundraising and is overseen by the Fundraising Regulator. The updated Code, effective 1 November 2025, introduces a clearer, principles‑based approach designed to strengthen public confidence and reflect modern fundraising methods.
As a charity operating in Northern Ireland, we also uphold the expectations of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI), which emphasises the duties of trustees to protect charitable resources, promote public confidence, and ensure lawful, well‑managed fundraising.
Our commitment is simple: we fundraise in ways that mirror our values — dignity, inclusion, empowerment, and community.
Our Fundraising Principles
- Honesty, Openness and Clarity
We will always be transparent about who we are, why we are fundraising, and how your generosity supports adults with learning disabilities to build skills, independence, and confidence. Our communications are clear, accurate, and respectful, reflecting the 2025 Code’s principles‑based framework of honesty, openness, respect and legality.
- Respect for Every Donor and Supporter
Our work is rooted in relationships — we treat every supporter with kindness and appreciation.
We promise:
- No undue pressure
- Clear choices about how we contact you
- A positive, respectful interaction every time
The new Code reinforces donor protection and sets high expectations for ethical practice across traditional and digital fundraising.
- Safeguarding and Support for Vulnerable People
Because we work daily with adults who may need additional care or consideration; safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We follow updated 2025 standards providing clear, dedicated guidance around recognising vulnerability and responding appropriately.
All fundraisers, including volunteers, receive training to ensure their approach is sensitive, inclusive, and empowering.
- Strong Governance and Accountability
Our Trustees take an active role in overseeing fundraising decisions, ensuring our approach aligns with our mission and reflects the needs and rights of those we support.
New 2025 guidance emphasises Trustee responsibility, risk management, and ethical decision‑making in fundraising — standards we are fully committed to meeting and exceeding.
- Responsible Stewardship and Due Diligence
We conduct due diligence on large or unusual donations, carefully ensuring that all contributions align with our values and the best interests of the individuals and communities we serve.
All third‑party fundraisers and partners are expected to demonstrate the same high standards we uphold internally.
- Listening, Learning and Complaints Handling
We value feedback — it helps us grow and ensures our practices remain worthy of trust.
We have a clear process for handling concerns, aligned with the Fundraising Regulator’s standards. The public also has the right to raise issues directly with the Regulator if needed.
