Strabane Garden Centre
Strabane Garden Centre is managed by Iris Black, assisted by John McGonagle who support and guide our clients with learning disabilities who choose horticulture and this setting; providing opportunities for additional learning and personal development as well as a hands-on, practical working environment which they enjoy very much.
Our clients have the opportunity to study many aspects of the horticulture function, as well as interacting with the pubic and developing Customer Service skills

Strabane Garden Centre is open to the public all year round, facilitating social inclusion in a constant learning environment.
Our Learning Resources (developed by the organisation, specifically for students with learning challenges) – New Hop Skills for Work is delivered in-house in off peak periods along with other accredited and enrichment training as identified by the Horticultural Supervisor and the Training & Community Services Manager
Created for the following reasons:
It provides meaningful hands-on work opportunities and experiences for our referred clients and a progression route from training and the sheltered environment to the world of work (over time).
> It allows us to be a part of the local Community, providing employment and volunteer opportunities for local people who want to be involved in the provision of services which improve the quality of life of our clients and their families
> It is a self-sustaining ‘vehicle’ by which we can maintain our provision of services, particularly to our clients requiring that little bit more in terms of support.
> It assists New Horizons Partnership Ltd. in truly achieving its Mission Statement.
